Denver the Guilty Dog (last day)

Last day and there's a ton to do.  First, we split up into two sub groups- girls went to original home and finished painting living room and back of newly installed door area, petted kitties, and ran away from bees. The boys went to project #2 and finished installing a door and tub surround, while wallowing in a heard of bees.  When girls finished all work at the original house, the family was very grateful.  They gave us their email, address, became friends on facebook, and any other way to contact them to just talk and stay in touch.  A lot was done in a short period.  Their house is now much more livable and warm.  We are all just happy we could make the family happy and secure feeling.  They don't have as much as we are used to but in many ways they have a lot of what we are used to because they cared about their families, they cared about us and we cared about them.
The second house was a job we were finishing from a previous week.  Very nice older lady and son.  Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of time and had a lot to do.  We worked late and hard in very tight quarters.  On the fifth day, how we all smelled and being so close to each other wasn't too pleasant.  But, we finished our project on the last day of the ASP summer. This new family greatly appreciated the hard and dedicated work put in to fixing their bath and shower and putting in a brand new back door.  This made their house warmer, safer, and dryer.
Amazingly, we were able to race to the lake for a last one half hour swim.  After that, we enjoyed an amazing delicious treat for less than $2. Best ice cream! whoo! We wish they could open a new "Lake View" in Illinois.
We are packing up clothes now and saying "goodbye" to friends, leaving our ASP families and looking forward to seeing our families we left a week ago.
