Keyboard Cat : Our Last Day at ASP

Howdy Y'all,

Today was an amazing final day at ASP! After a long, hard-working week, we finally finished all of our projects at our family home. Today, we finished up tiling one of the bedrooms in the house. We put molding along the wall of the bedroom. Also, we put up some siding around the back door, after a previous ASP group put the new door in. Looking back on our week, it has been amazing transformation and it so rewarding to see the excitement in all the family as they see the changes.

The best part of our day was when our family made us lunch. It was a feast for over fifty people with a variety of different foods. Everything was so good! The most exciting part of lunch was talking with all the family members at lunch. We were so excited to work with Carter and we were blessed to help them in anyway possible.

After all the hard work this week, we decided to go to the beach to celebrate a great week. We went swimming and afterwards we went to go get some ice cream at a local ice cream spot. The ice cream was home-made!

Overall, this week has been one of the greatest mission trips for our group. We got to get to know our group really well and create a great group bond. We were so happy to help Carter out and make his life so much safer, warmer and dryer. As my last mission trip, it has been so rewarding to work with these great youth members. The adult leaders were so supportive, energizing and amazing people to work with. This week will be remembered forever for the life skills we learned and the continuous bonds that we made.

We can't wait to see you all tomorrow and share all our stories with you. Looking forward to heading back to Chicago!

Sincerely,

Mary Smyers
